Just purchased a home with concrete kitchen countertops. They are in good condition but I have two issues with them. 1. they're a rust color that doesn't sit well with me and 2. they did it in two blocks so in the middle of one of slabs there is a clear line/crack where they merged the two sides. Without getting it professionally replaced, is there any thing I can do to fill in that gap? and the second question is... can I refinish the countertop with a new color? What is the process? or if anyone knows of a good step by step for blondes on how to do this I'd really appreciate it. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated !!!

Good luck with try to do eather one of those job on that type top. I know of nothing that would fill it in and not show, an unsanded grout is about all you could do. The stain that's in the concrete is down inside of it not just on top. If you try a differant color I feel it would be like mixing any two colors, not quite sure what color it's going to look like until it's to late. May want to try "concrete network.com if no one here comes up with any good ideas. That's all there do on that site and there a whole area on stain and countertops. joecaption
