Advice on Countertops
So we have completely updated our cabinetry in our kitchen. (I will attach photos) We have stained the cabinets a darker more modern color to compliment the updates we are doing throughout the old farmhouse we purchased. We are just having one dilemma, we do not have the time/money immediately to purchase new counter tops. The old laminate counter tops had wood along the edges so we stained them to match as well, however we are still left with the blue laminate gross-ness! Does anyone know of any suggestions on how we could change the color or do anything with that until we have our concrete counter tops purchased and installed? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

the faux granite parts looks OK. the clown color strip on the front defies description. besides, this board is patrolled against such language Wink

only thing I could suggest is to put another strip of something over it, butt up against the front wood strip. more wood has the capacity to be a germ bomb, but stained and varnished and the edge against the laminate siliconed, might work. you won't have eggs rolling onto the floor if you do that.

I'd do quartz counters myself, but taste is personal.

( not going to joke about the neon green quartz option, you're already hurting... )

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?

Those types of counter tops are not expensive at all. $100 - $200 and about 1 hr. worth of work and you could have a counter top you could live with until you save for the one you want.

Another option would be laminate, either strip existing or go over.

And still yet another option...
