I am trying to update my kitchen so I can sell my house. I'm pretty good with putting the new floor down and I quite sure I can manage resurfacing the cabinets....But, I need to do something really easy and really inexpensive with the laminate countertops. I've read that you can paint them or tile over them. I want the countertops to look good but I just don't have the funds to spend a lot of money on them and I don't have a lot of time to get the project done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

We've had quite a few clients lately who hire us to 'fix' up their house to sell. There are basic things to do (fix what is broken, neutral painting, make entrys attractive etc.) that can really help to sell the house.

Sad to say trying to fix up countertops fast and cheap is going to hurt, not help. Unless your laminate tops are damaged, leave them - trying to paint or to put tile over laminate is just going to look like a cheap fix and will hurt your sale.

The main thing is the condition of your stuff - if it's broken, then by all means fix it. If you just think that it looks ugly, then leave it alone - your potential buyer may feel differently.

Check into the new tops Home Depot is carrying.
They look like stone and have a roman ogee edge on the back splash and the front, not the simple rounded edge like most have.
