KitchenAid Oven Turning Itself On
I have a KitchenAid KESK901SSS06 that turns itself on. Any idea what might cause this? Whirlpool is sending out a service provider tomorrow to look at it, but I am afraid, as with most things, it won't replicate this error when they are here, seeing it has randomly done it on two nights about a half hour after I have turned it off. However, it doesn't do it every time after I use the oven.

About a half hour or so after using the oven and turning it off, the fan starts whirring in the oven, but there's nothing on the display but the time (we already checked Sabbath mode - not the issue). Does this unit perhaps have a cool setting that turns on to cool down the oven and electrical panel, as a safety feature? The last time we noticed, I had not propped the oven door open to warm the house as we typically do, so I am wondering if maybe it just got too hot in the oven and a fan kicked in? When we try to turn it off, nothing is on the display but the time, and when we press off, nothing happens. We opened the door, the fan was running and it felt warm, but it could've been from running earlier. After about 30 seconds or so, it turned off on its own.

What do you recommend having the service technician check? I hate to have the technician be sent all the way out and tell me no luck, because it's not replicating.

Thanks in advance!

what your oven has is a convection cycle.it depends on the temperature you are using in this cycle when it gets to a certain hot temperature it starts to blow the heat out and will stop when cooled down.like baking bread at 400 degrees my GE will blow 15 minutes after i turn it off. the fan will run at that time to transport the hot air..it has nothing to do with the shabath setting.

Thanks. The weird thing is that the fan noise goes away when I turn the oven "off" on the display. Then, it starts again 30 minutes later. Is that common? The last time it happened I was cooking at 425 degrees, and typically, I'm at the 350 mark.
