I just completed a tile backsplash in a neighbor's kitchen. The stove fits snugly between two cabinets. The backsplash runs wall to wall, including behind the stove and up to the upper cabinets. How far down the wall behind the stove should the tile backsplash go?

I would say at least 3-4 inches down behind the stove. Even if you replace the stove it should be 3 inches shorter than your previous one

I usually run a backsplash down to the countertop level. That way, if you even get a flush range with front controls you'll be covered as no range will ever be lower than the countertops. Also, for a normal range with a raised back, you'll still see backsplash even if the range is pulled out from the wall a few inches. Jaybee

Thanks! I guess my job is done then. Good to know.
