I am currently in the process of remodeling my kitchen and adding some more cabinets to an empty wall so that I can finally have a decent amount of store in my tiny galley style kitchen. I have recently determined that my cabinets are from the 1960's but I have no idea what brand they are. I recently found a cheaper made set at my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore that are identical to mine but of course they aren't marked as to what brand they are. I'm on the hunt for the exact same set as what I have because they are in great condition for being 47 years old but I can't advertise that I'm looking for them unless I know of the brand. I can verify they are the original to the house and that they are from the 1960's. Thanks!!

Some cabinet manufacturers will add a small medallion or emboss their name somewhere on a cabinet. Usually this is the sink base unit. Take a look there so see if yours has one.

However - Even if you find the name of the manufacturer it's going to be hard to find an exact match for 47 year old cabinets. Even if the company is still in business and is still making the same model cabinet (doubtful) a brand new cabinet is exactly the same style and color will look different. About the only way to get an exact match will be to find other houses in your area made at the same time using the same cabinets - and having those houses getting rid of their cabinets.

Since all the above is highly unlikely, you may want to settle for that close match that you have found.

I doubt there was even companys mass producing cabinets that long ago.

Right now I'm just looking for the brand. I figure they won't be making the same cabinets. I'm trying to find some used cabinets in the same brand or something close because the quality of the other older cabinets has been pretty awful. I have located a couple of pictures online but they didn't know the brand and I did find a fairly beat up set of the same style of cabinets I have but they weren't what I needed. I inspected them for the brand a struck out there too. They almost seemed to me that they had the nice set that I've got and a cheaper made set in the same style. I'll try to post a couple of pictures tonight once I resurrect one of the cabinet door from my garage. I'm probably going to post a few wanted ads around the Kansas City area because I'd rather not drive more than 2 hours for the cabinets unless someone has an inexpensive way to ship them. I thought about new cabinets but honestly, the ones I have are even better quality than the new ones. They doors are somewhat beat up but I was going to redo those anyway.

You do know there's hundreds of companys that sell just the doors and drawer fronts on line.

ARe they original to the house? Do the neighbors have the same house? If so ask if they have any spares they moved to the garage. That is what happened in my neighborhood. My old cabinets are now across the street.

I agree with joecaption, there are many online websites from where you can get the similar doors for your cabinets. Even i have replaced a couple of doors of my kitchen cabinets last month and after painting them, no one can guess they are different.. For instance check out these kitchen cabinets door here.

you could put new doors and drawer fronts on whatever you have and can find. they don't have to cost a ton. I even taught myself how to make them out in the garage from web info and a pile of cheap white wood to practice on.
