We are adding soffet because of flooring above the cabinets. Should we use these for lighting around the cabinets? I have no idea how to efficiently light the kitchen with keeping these beams exposed, but I just can't bear to cover these up.
Does anyone have any pictures of lighting in their exposed beam kitchen? I dont want to add drywall between the beams, I love the look as is. We are going to sand and poly the beams.
I'm a bit confused and I doubt that I'm the only one. In your post you state that your issue is how to install lighting in your beamed ceiling in your kitchen. Yet from your picture and the angle at which it is taken and it is posted, it's difficult to know whether the picture is of overhead floor joists or a stud wall
Below is the same picture though it has been rotated so that it appears to show the overhead beams correctly overhead. This may help others to view your problem correctly and also bring forward more suggestions in how to deal with your lighting concerns.
