Try tapping the starter motor with a hammer while someone cranks the key. If the starter starts to spin while you're tapping it, the starter motor is going bad and needs replacing. Be very careful of the accessory belts and fan while doing this. No need to hurt yourself. Depending on the location of the starter, you might need to use a socket extension or a piece of pipe to actually get to the starter motor. I don't know where they are on that car.
Look for corrosion on the positive or negative battery cable and it is a very common problem with GM's terminal ends.Clean it with a wire brush or cheap soda pop, cola from your nearest grocery store.Cola dissolves it.
