I have a burgundy leather sofa and honey wood furniture. Contemporary style. Brushed nickel and black accents. I need to paint my living room walls, but am unsure about color that will go well with burgundy. I also have several photographs in black frames with white matting.
The ceilings are vaulted and with about a 35 degree pitch and one wall is all window. There is plenty of light in the room. The ceiling is shared by the hallway and entry way, so that color needs to be neutral enough to go with whatever color those will be. The fireplace has floor to ceiling beige brick which I’m able to paint if needed. The carpeting will be replaced later, so it’s not really a factor. It is a speckled beige, black, brownish color. The room is approx 10’W x 20’L x 12’H.
I like neutral colors and want a warm color to make winters more cozy. I’d like something rich in color, but won’t detract from the wall o’windows which is the first thing you notice as you enter the room. The fireplace is on a side wall and tucked into a corner. I was looking at various shades in the families of : sage, gold/ochre, and ‘mushroom’.
I couldn't open your links but I think you're on the right track with the colors you mention. I have a khaki-beige on my great room walls called Newport Beige (Porter), with burgundy drapes and a deep charcoal-green carpet.
Anything in that family will work well but it's hard to tell you a specific color since the amount of light varies so much from one home to the next. I think that I would steer more to the mushroom or light coffee tones and away from golden hues since that might not work well with the burgundy.
You might consider buying several quarts of paint in the colors you're considering and paint 36" square swatches on each wall you'll be covering. Live with them a few days so you can see how the colors react to different light sources, then choose your favorite.
