Hi there!! New here! Just decided to give our master bedroom a facelift! As always, our bedroom is the last one to do. But now its my time! So i think i have decided to use a dark purple--think almost black as the accent wall behind the bed, with the remaining three walls in a grey......soft grey. Havent decided on exact shades yet.

But we dont have a headboard...or anything. Basically our mattress and box spring is on the floor.

so i was thinking of creating a headboard, something simple . Framing in a rectangle and using wallpaper in side the rectangle.

has anyone done this? any tips? Never used wallpaper before but trying to stay simple(cheap) but yet still trying to achieve an "adult" look.

any ideas?

Hi it's funny that you are making a headboard yourself I thought I made this idea up!
I plan on doing the same thing for my son's room.
His room has a large armoire with a TV along with a few dressers, so there isn't much room for a head or footboard.
I am going to build wood around the top of his queen size bed and attached it to the wall in the shape of a bed frame.
I was thinking about extending the top piece longer then the posts to make it a little dramatic. I'm going to stain the
wood and use the top for some rustic decorations. Inside the frame where you are putting wallpaper I'm going to put some
rustic slate tiles. I think I'm going to put the tiles on a flat piece of wood first and let it dry then attached it to the
wall in the center of the frame. I never did this before, I will let you know how it comes out and the problems I face. The
walls are made of sheetrock so I know I'm going to face some challenges. What kind of walls do you plan on attaching your
frame to?
Please let me know how things work out for you. I will not be getting to this for a while yet.

I think it could work. I would use a vinyl wallpaper with a little texture to it as pillows and heads may be hitting it. You could do the same think with fabric, which might give more choices.

Paint one on.?
Purchase a flat one and screw it to the wall.?
