I am having Cherry (Rosewood Floors installed , I have painted my walls Navajo White. I saw these really nice Blackout Drapes in Chocolate Brown But this is an all knew color scheme and I don't know if the Chocolate would go with the Cherry Rosewood Floors? I still need to buy a couch any suggestions on color of tables and couch? p.s there is a cream colored drape almost looks Navajo White, I thought that color would look to blah and blend in to much with the wall.
Thank You

Hey there-

I'm assuming that your floor will be a reddish brown hue so with that in mind I would say that yes, the chocolate drapes would look nice. If your off-white drapes are in good shape, however, you can have a stripe of dark brown added to the edges, either a deep horizontal hem of 24" or so, or a narrower vertical stripe edging the sides of each panel. This could bring in some color without darkening the room...unless that is your intent.

As to sofa color...I would take a floor sample with me when shopping. Greens, golds, warm mocha tones would all look nice in the room so you have many choices. I would stay away from true reds unless you can look at them against your floor since cherry can have a pinkish undertone...and that could clash.

Wood tables...you could go dark, almost black or lighter than the floor but try to stay away from anything nearly the same color. True stain matches can look dull so you'll want some contrast and tables that 'almost' match the floor just look wrong. I personally love deep wood tones but you can easily go lighter for a different look.

In all your shopping, bring a floor sample with you. You won't have to try to remember the tones you're working with and it will influence your choices.

Good luck and have fun!

Thank You All who answered. I have more of a sense of direction now. I think now I can put this room together and it will look good.

I am ready to shop now!
