I have an original cloth ceiling in my 1800 Victorian house dining room. There is a ittle damage where the ceiling was cut to change the heating system many years ago as well as a little water damage from a leak from the kitchen upstairs. Any suggestions on how to fix the cut out portion on the ceiling and can the ceiling be painted?
