General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I'm partial to the double-deep-fried lard balls, myself.

Now that Twinkies are coming back I'm sure they'll be offered deep fried at the State Fair again. That and deep fried Snickers bars.

I couldn't help thinking of this thread yesterday as I was thumbing through a book on life in 1942.

One of the topics was commodity rationing, as well as compromises Americans had to make for the war effort. Included were two recipes for spam!

Also of interest was the fact that sugar was rationed. Contrast that with today's food products, many of which are laden heavily with sugar or high fructose corn syrup. I was struck by the contrast between life today and 70 years ago. What now causes multiple health problems was precious 70 years ago.

Of course today we have two kinds of spam, the abundant type of which would be more valuable if it were in fact extinct.

It seems as though this closed circuit fellow isn't going to go away, so let's change the spam recipe to make it healthier for us.

Substitute olive oil for butter. Add some onions, garlic, parsley and perhaps oregano. Serve it with homemade spinach noodles and it might even be appetizing.

On an unrelated note, can anyone imagine how boring it must be to be this guy with his one track mind? Frown Forget having a significant other; she'd fall asleep within a few minutes of listening to his pitch on CC systems. Maybe that's why he spams so much - no social life.
