Building a foundation for a tiny house
Hello all, I've been in love with tiny houses since I found them a couple years ago and finally embarking on building my own. I've built decks before and curious if the same concept applies to something Ill be leaving in.
Im curious about the proper foundation, do I need a footing or would concrete columns with 4x4 running across them and my floor joists built on to those be suffice? What about moisture protection?

You will need a proper foundation. For such a small house, it may be like a small scale house-type foundation or it could be concrete piers.
You really need to check with your local code department as to what they require.
In my area, once a structure is heated and cooled it needs a conventional foundation, however it is possible to get a waiver if you can support with piers.
Remember that a foundation not only keeps your little house from sinking into the ground but it's also part of the system the keeps it from blowing away.
