We will have a 4 post porch; posts over masonry piers. The upper part will be OSB tapered framed "box" over which we will use polypropylene shingles (Certainteed Cedar Impressions)that match other house accents. Structurally will use 4x4 cedar posts.
I expect that there will be no water entry to the internals of the post (and the OSB is isolated from the masonry by a layer of Azek).
Question: Do I have to worry about humidity issues causing problems over the long term on the insides? There will be ability for any water that managed to get in to drain out the bottom.
I don't think you have any problems related to the load bearing 4X4 posts. If there is any deterioration it will be in the OSB. Even in that there must be liquid water on or soaking into the OSB. It looks like the OSB is protected and should last for a very long time.
