        Hi mikem201,

I'm not quite sure what your issue is with installing Fascia on a gable end with no soffit. However, use Google and do a search using the following without the quotes:

"Installing wood fascia on a gable end in pictures"

The first link gives you guides as to how to layout the Fascia so that it relates with the soffit you will have on the front and back edge of your structure.

Since the link may not cover all the issues that you feel you may face in this task, alter your search in Google by eliminating in pictures so that your search is now the following:

"Installing wood fascia on a gable end"

This will give you new sites to consider. Focus more on those sites that do not deal with aluminium unless you plan to use it eventually.

One final change in the Search can be made by adding HomeTime such that the search in Google becomes the following:

"Installing wood fascia on a gable end HomeTime"

Doing this will bring up specific sites from the HomeTime series which includes pictures and how to info that may be helpful. This site also provides detailed instructions and terms which will help you understand what to do.

Doing this will allow you to learn the various parts of what is involved and allow you to ask specific questions which others here can assist you with. You may also get a better idea of what you need to do to actually begin the task.

        Some thoughts to consider.

        Good Luck!

        Hi mikem201,

One thing you failed to state in your original question, is how the gable end of this structure will be finished in brick, vinyl siding, board and batten, etc. This may have a bearing on whether you need add a wood fascia board at this time or at all.

Your question is lacking in detail so that others here can understand what your particular issues actual are and what your particular needs will be to assist you properly.

Use the info in the first message to better understand what is involved then ask for more specific assistance.

        Good Luck!
