I want to install ceramic tile on the face of my fire place and I have a few question. The height of my fire place is 54 inches tall by 64 inches wide and I’m looking at 12x12 tiles. Do they have to be for wall or can we use tile made for floor? The face of the brick on there now is a rough face brick and what should I use mastic or a cement base product to secure it to the brick

In order for this to come out flat your going to have to add 1/2' tile board with thin set under it.
