pier and beam setup
I am about to build a house in central Texas.

I can dig down about 16-22" before hitting solid rock. My question is can I pour piers directly on the rock? I was going to drill into the rock and epoxy re-bar in the rock before I pour concrete. any ideas would help. This is a 30 x 50 home

Hi shanetill254,

I believe you will likely find that posting your question in another area here on the DIY Boards will bring quicker assistance that you desire. This area happens to be way down on the list of areas here on the Boards which often get overlooked. I recommend that you post this same message under General Home Improvement which is at the top of the Boards and you will likely get a reply that will be meaningful within a day or 2.

Below is a link to that area.

Good Luck!

I'll answer; No reason why that shouldn't work, unless your 'rock' is not very stable. Also, codes can vary in different parts of the country. the simple way to get an accurate answer is to pose your question to your local code department.
