About Sani-Flo waste water systems
We want to put a bathroom in our basement, but don't want to dig the concrete out.

Our local building supply store has a system, (I believe it was called 'Sani-flo'), that is a grinder pump that's installed beside the toilet or behind a wall.

We'd also like to hook the sink and shower into the same system.

Has anyone had any experience with the installation or maintenance of this system?

Your input would be very helpful. Thanks!

They have been around long enough to have a good track record.

Pro: No need to cut up the concrete.

Con: Since it sits above the floor level, if you use it to drain other things (like a tub or shower) those items will need to be on a pedestal so that they can drain.

Also, you have to be careful about what goes into the toilet. The general rule is you can only put in something that has been eaten first. Things like tampons or cigarette butts will clog the macerator.
