Remodel of Mobile Home Bathroom
Any advice or direction??
I am currently trying to remodel the bathroom in a trailor home. I would like to add a stand up shower and possibly remove the sink(there is another bathroom with a sink .... I cannot find showers that appropriate. This is the first DIY project so maybe I'm not looking in the right direction..... Can anyone help me???

OK, it's not impossible but a bath remodel is one of the more difficult type projects. If you have no DIY experience, I would not start with this. A bath combines design & structure with electrical and plumbing - all have to work together and must be done in the right way.

If you are determined to do this as a DIY, try to find a friend with some DIY experience, or sub out the difficult parts like plumbing.

The first thing which you must be considering before a bathroom remodeling is the size and your requirement. For better replies please mention that. Also your shower be placed in such a way that it should not be wetting the doors and walls. Also water should be removed quiet easily after the shower.

Some challanges you may run into with a mobil home especially if it's an older one is, partical board floors,no drywall behind the paneling, Quest plumbing (which had class action sutes againt them for all the leaks and burst fittings and pipe.) Nonstandard wall framing and door size, cheap plastic shower controls.
Anytime you relocate plumbing a simple remodel canbecome far more complacated.
First thing that would need to go is the subflooring. Partical board was one of the dumbest things ever invented.
It gets wet one time and it turns to oatmeal.

A bathroom without a sink has no resale value. Consider that as well.

Ha My bathroom has no sink but is really valuble to me when I need it, Even has two holes for faster service.
Never could figure out why they put two holes to but your legs in but a board to poop on.
