There are two bathtubs with one faucet each.
95% of the time, I get less hot water than cold water when I turn the handle from cold to hot.
        Which part should I replace?

the part where you think this is a big job.

mixer valves are shipped from the factory with a plug in them that limits the amount of hot water, to prevent scalding hazards in the very old or very young, pursuant to Federal law. the plug is adjustable. you can remove the handle, and generally the plug can be pulled up, moved further to the left "hot" side, and the max temp tested.

once you're satisfied, put the handle back on. it's done.

you will run out of hot water faster in the house if you have multiple uses going on at the same time. just like the old days.

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?

Their is a limit of hot water in some water heaters. Before installing a water heater. You must be careful about the gallons. Some how this problem is not technical its the matter of replacing water warmer with new one.
