Toilet flange rusted
I noticed water leaking from the right side toilet base.

Removing the toilet revealed that the toilet flange was rusted specifically where the bolts go. This appears to be a cast iron toilet flange with a PVC pipe. There doesn't seem to be any bolts or screws in any of the flange holes. The flange is recessed slightly into the floor from the tile.

I was thinking of purchasing a replacement like this:

New Flange

Would I have to remove the flange altogether or can I just place this right on top of the rusted flange?

If that new replacement flange will fit inside your existing pipe, then it's likey just the thing you need. Most likely, you have a leak because the tile floor is higher than the original floor - yet you have the same flange height. Adding your replacement flange will raise the flange height by about 3/8" to 1/2", which will get the lip of the flange up to or just above the floor level where it's supposed to be.

You may have to get creative with attaching the new flange as it's likely that you have some rotted wood around the old pipe.

When you do install the toilet again, get a wax ring that has a rubber ring attached to it. This will help stop leaks too.

Is there access under that floor? Of so the pipe can be cut off and a new flange installed that has a Stainless steel ring instead of steel.

i was looking at your picture. nice towel,,, thats all i saw. but,, from the color of the flange
i THINK its a solidered on need to verify the type of pipe under the towel. you can use the flange you picked out BUT. it will require you to drill the concrete and bolt it to the floor or the toilet will be a "rock an roll" toilet

try one of these
it installs under the broke flange and sammich's between the old flange inbetween it and the toilet bowl, holding all secure and leak proof
