Need help with a bathtub
Hi I recently bought a house and I need a new bathtub. I measured our space and it's only 58and a half inches long but every tub I see is 60 inches long. Is this normal or do I have to find a tub that's 58 inches long? Please help

The 60 inch measurement is from bare stud to bare stud. So if you are measuring sheetrock to sheetrock or tile to tile, you'll have more space after the removal of the other stud coverings.

we had a framer one time that wouldrough frame the tub hole 59 3/4" every time. so we would bump the stud over at the bottom 1/4" and tell him. hey man rough the opening 60 1/4" ok? next job 59 3/4" about the 4 or fith house one of the plumbers removed the whole wall thru it in the back yard and left a note on the tub 60 1/4" !!!!! Big Grin
we never had to bump the wall again LOL*****?v=vn7bkncf1_E

It depends on your measurement and if you are measuring from tile to tile so you will need more space. It is better to find a 58' inches long tub because 60 inches long tub will not adjust in that space.
