Hello everyone! Okay, so my husband and I are remodeling my grandparent's old house before moving in. The bathroom has to be completely gutted, and so we have free reign to rebuild it how we see fit. However, everything has to be done on a fairly strict budget.
We desperately want to put in a clawfoot tub, but adding a shower conversion kit with a hand held shower attachment built on to it is going to eat up a fairly large chunk of change. I wasn't able to find any info on this anywhere else, is it possible to use a built in wall mounted shower head with a clawfoot tub? I feel like it should be possible, but I've never done anything like this before!
yes and no....the problem is. the length of the tub spout. the farther the tub is from the wall the longer the spout needs to be. i have seen, a deck built at just tub height, and a faucet mounted on it. doesnt look good
a claw foot tub needs to have a claw foot tub faucet hooked up to it. go ahead and bite the bullet.

Awesome, thanks a bunch Looking at it again, I realized that I'm a bit of an idiot anyway...it looks like we can do the traditional clawfoot faucet, with a shower conversion kit which then has a new shower head with hose installed on it. I just know that I want a shower, and I want a showerhead with a hose LOL.
i dont know if they still carry it..but sears used to have a shower riser and shower curtain loop for a claw foot that was pretty reasonable. $150--$200 range
Here are a couple of links that may be of interest to you in your project.
nice find....reasonable prices
