Supply lines for claw foot tub
Hello. I'm remodeling the master bath and want to install a claw foot tub. This will be on a slab. The water pipes for the old tub are coming out from the wall. All of the supply lines I've seen available for claw foot tubs come up from the floor. Is anything available that can connect to the wall or will I need to build a base to elevate the tub? (Building a base sounds easier that cutting into the slab) Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want your faucet to be on the end then you will either have to make an elevated base or cut into the slab. You should be able to cut into the wall to get access to the H & C supply lines.

Tips:

Make sure that you make the base large enough so that you have a place to step when exiting the tub.

When shopping for the tub faucet, keep a firm hold on your wallet - the prices for those types of faucets are unreal.

if you use a tub mounted valve, then you can use chrome plated copper pipe. and use pipe benders to install it.
install chrome valves close to the wall, and exposed piping chromed. it looks good. IF the piping is bent correctly, its an art

That's what I was afraid of. And unfortunately the rest of the bath won't match shiny chrome. Hmmm... I think I'm going to look at some other ideas. I've seen some cool pictures of free standing tubs with deck mounted hardware. Given the location of the tub, elevating it may look awkward.

Brushed nickel. I've also realized the space is very tight for the tub so I'm going with wall mounted hardware to fill the tub from the end. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.

you know...old trick..if you were to install a copper pipe. and then coat it with flux and solider and wipe off solider when its hot. it leaves a surprisingly color that is passable for nickel
