I have a very 'GOLD' bathroom and would like to change all the gold out. I can do the faucets and towel bars, but not sure how or what I could do to change the trim on the existing shower with out having to purchase new doors and one 1/2 wall. The shower its self is fine just would like to get rid of the gold.

Best solution is to change out the shower parts with the new color. Unfortunately, that's also the most expensive solution.

It's possible to paint the metal, but it's not the most durable and not the best looking.

Other solution is to use an acid to wash off the gold surface (it's just plating on top of aluminum). However, unless you are experienced with this you have more chance of messing things up than washing the gold off. If you go this route, find a metal worker (the kind of person who makes metal sculpture etc) to do the acid.
