I saw several shows where Matt used this orange color board in a shower. he said once the grout dried that you could take a shower without it leaking.
What is this board called and where can I get it? Any GOOD response would be appreciated.

It's called Kerdi by Schluter. Great stuff although pricy. I just finished a 5' x 10' custom shower a few hours ago an we used this.

Sure, if you're using an epoxy grout.

If you're using a cement based grout, I think it's best to allow the grout to dry completely before sealing it, and then allow a day or two for the sealer to dry completely before using the shower.

That step where you seal the grout is the one that most people don't bother with, and regret not having done later.

You also need to decide whether to use a penetrating grout sealer or a film forming grout sealer. Penetrating sealers theoretically should last much longer, but film forming sealers are more reliable (in my view) and they allow you to use harsher chemicals to get your bathroom tiling cleaner faster.

And, if you choose to use a film forming grout sealer, make sure it's an ACRYLIC grout sealer. Don't buy any film forming grout sealer that has the word "siloxane" in the contents. Siloxane means a silicone based plastic. The problem with all silicone based plastics is that nothing sticks well to them, silicone caulk being a perfect example. So, a silicone based grout sealer will seal your grout just as well as an acrylic grout sealer. But, then in time you're going to need to re-seal your grout and that's where the difference comes in. No grout sealer is going to stick well to the silicone based sealer you have on your grout, not even another silicone based film forming sealer. Acrylic film forming sealers don't have that problem. So, if you have an acrylic film forming sealer on your grout, you can paint right over it with more acrylic film forming sealer to restore the grout protection and each coat will stick well to the previous coat.

They don't seem to ever mention that in the TV shows either. Guess they're scared of winding up in court.
