The BugUrine Smell
I have four dogs in a relatively small backyard. The smell of urine is so strong that we are embarrassed to invite people over for a bar-b-que. My husband and I married and both had two dogs. We would love to be able to invite people over again. Do you have any suggestions as to how to get that smell out? We have used lyme to no avail. Dug up some dirt and put new soil in, then reseeded. Would love some advise as to how to deal with this embarrassing event in our backyard. Im pretty sure the neighbors would think the same thing.

ConradHope these are small dogs? Any size will still create a lot of urine. If they are medium to large dogs, then the yard may just be too small (how small are we talking?) (And hopefully you walk them all regularly so they get enough exercise?)
Healthy, exercised dogs, on quality food also drink a lot of water which helps to dilute the urine. Concentrated urine has more odor.
Ok, got off my soap box on dog treatment. The only real way to deal with urine odor issues is with an enzyme product that actually digests the urine. Natures Miracle is one, but there are others. Healthy soil and deep organic mulch may also help some.
Be aware that it may not only be your dogs, the odor may attract other loose dogs to the perimeter where they can also urinate. Perhaps even cats?

swschradspread gypsum to reduce its effect on the landscape, and hit pet stores to find the enzyme products. a few home centers in your area may have them on the shelf, too, I think I saw some in the pest control section of a Home Depot.
