Help my yard
Leach field designs ideas..
I just purchased a house outside of Denver with a little more then a acre. I was so excited till I realized that most of the yard is a leach field. From my research there is very little one can do to "jazz up" a leach field and with it covering a large portion of my yard I am looking for any and all suggestions.

If you're asking for help from the show, you're unlikely to get it through this forum, which is for DIY'ers doing their own work.

If you're looking for landscaping you can do yourself, though, this might help:

Landscaping over Septic Drain Fields

I found another hit for similar suggestions from the Virginia Cooperative Extension service, but it's a .pdf file so you'd have to download it.

Here are the Google hits for "leach field":

Keep scrolling till you see the Virginia Coop link.

and Leach field gardening

Hope this helps.

before you decide to move any heirloom or deep-rooted plants into the leachfield, keep in mind that someday, maybe while you still own the home, there is a real good likelihood it's going to have to be dug up. you won't want anything valuable there, and absolutely no deep-rooting plants which will invade the drainage runs.

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?
