My husband and I recently moved into a travel trailer and need to build wooden stairs to use instead of the trailers unstable steps. Measurements are 3ft wide and 2ft 9inches in height. I have been trying to find a set of plans that would give me some help but can not seem to locate. Any idea where I can find help..thanks

rule of thumb for stairs is a 7 inch rise for an 11 inch run. Your height is 31 inches, so that would translate to 4 stairs and a little three inch platform at the bottom. They make precut stringers that would be helpful. For three feet wide, I would use three stringers. If you used 2x lumber for the treads, you would probably not need to small 3 inch high platform at the bottom. Good luck.

Thank you Fireball. I too am looking at building some steps but for access to my kids' trampoline. I'll keep this in mind.

Make sure to not just set the bottoms of the risers directly on the ground or they will rot.
Use something like patio blocks.
