does anyone have any helpful advice for me? i just got a dado blade for my table saw (craftsman 137.248481) and i need to take the spacer off the arbor in order for it to fit. does anyone know how to get that off?
I am not familar with the model saw you have but I have not seen a tablesaw that had spacer on the arbor that had to come off. Take the regular blade off and put on the dado blade. If you could post a picture of your saw and give a little for of a description it would help.
Once you remove the arbor nut and collar, then you can remove the original blade (most are reverse thread.) The remaining collar is an integral part of the arbor and cannot be removed. It places the blade in proper alignment with the table insert. Once you have removed the regular blade, the dado blade goes in its place. You might have to get a different insert to accommodate the width of the dado blade, but you shouldn't have to remove the arbor collar to install the dado blade.

Some table saws arbors are not long enought to handle a stack dado. you may need to go to the dial type freud dial-A-dadothis might correct your problem.
Start with 10 end with 10
