I am refinishing a kitchen table, oak wood. I have already stripped and sanded it, and applied two coats of finish. I was sanding the second coat down and a few small spots seem to have the stain sanded off as well. It feels like they still have finish on them, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to fix this without having to start completely over? I don't have the tools for that at my apartment and I REALLY don't want to have to.
Using Minwax Polyurethane and I sanded with 400 grit sandpaper.

Were those small circular spots damaged before you began sanding? It looks as if someone tried to sand them out and may have damaged the wood. This message has been edited. Last edited by: GardenSprite,
No, I don't believe they were there before sanding.
If you problem isn't resolved, let me know. The resolution would take some time to explain, but I think I have some insights.
