Angle to cut crown molding to make mantel shelf? Sign In/Join
        posted
I am planning to make a fireplace mantel shelf using existing crown molding (the bottom photo). I am just not good at math to figure out the best practice out there to cut this. So let say if I need to cut the molding with angle alpha (a) as in the photo, how do I cut the side pieces so they can fit perfectly (or near perfect) to cover the 2 sides? Any easy way to calculate this?
