wooden slices
how do I store 26 wooden slices for 9 months? Is it OK to bring them inside? If so what do I put them in so as not to get any bugs or affect the slices? Should I put a clear coat them now before storing them or right before I need them?

Depends on what you mean by 'slices'. Type of wood, dimension and thickness of the stock, what you are planning on using it for etc.

Generally it's best to store wood stacked with 1x1 pieces evenly spaced in-between each piece. Add some extra weight across the top piece. Store in a dry place.

What Jaybee said, and definitely DO NOT apply clear coat or any other kind of finish to the wood while drying. Ideally, it should be stored in a dry place with as little temperature variation as possible. You can cover it with plastic but leave some openings in the ends so air can circulate.
