I want to make a toner by adding a TransTint dye to Minwax polyurethane. I was looking at the following TransTint tip sheet: http://www.joewoodworker.com/transtints.htm It says you can't add TransTint to a two-component polyurethane. I'm assuming a two-component polyurethane would be like a two-component epoxy in that you mix two separate components prior to use, in which case, most commercial polyurethane topcoats would be single component. Is that correct? Does anyone have any experience using TransTint with Minwax (or some other brand) polyurethane. They say you need to use the gloss finish. I would intend to use gloss for the toner, then use a satin clearcoat over the gloss toner.

I found the answer to my question upon re-reading the same tip sheet. TransTints are incompatible with all oil-based varnishes and polys, not just two-component polys.
