need a drill press table
I need a tilting drill press table, JUST the table. I've looked on amazon, ebay, craigslist, B&M stores, etc with no luck.

Anybody have any suggestions?

assuming this is a professional-grade drill press, a real tool store will have replacement tables in the catalog availiable for special order. production tooling is sold as everything being an add-on, which is the basis of setting up for specific needs.

if you've got a $109 dollar import special drill press from whatever island was above water in the week of manufacture. good luck. you need what we call a "forklift upgrade."

eh, yeah, I forgot to mention what size the press is. I beleive its a 10" (standard home version). My stepfather gave it to me when he bought another one and its been collecting dust since. I'm now in need to use it.

I thought bout having the local machine shop make me one from plate or angle frame (in which case I would make a wooden adjustable base that will attach to the angle frame). They owe me a few anyhow.....This would be my last resort cause I'm trying to save my "you owe me one"'s for some other brackets for projects in mind.

most d.presses, even the cheapos have an adjustable table. Look under the table to where the table collar attaches to the post. you will probably see a nut that joins the table to the collar that goes around the post, loosen this nut, you might also see a pin below this nut. This pin locks the table to the 90 degree position, loosen but dont remove this pin. Now with the pin and nut loose you should be able to tilt the table, when you have the desired angle , tighten the nut, you probably wont be able to tighten the pin as it fits into a detent at the 90 degree position.
If this works , kindly let us know so others may be able to benefit,If it doesn't---punt .

other options would include making an external base of angle iron on which you could rest your work, finding a piece of pipe with an inner diameter just a titch larger than the shaft on your press, cutting in half, welding 4 flanges so the halves can bolt together around your press shaft, and then putting a tilt stage on that.

sounds like you're setting up for some repetitive work. the external frame, assuming it bolts with the drill press to a solid work space, might be the way to make it faster to do a lot of preset drilling.
