Hello,
Today while I was watching Decompression at about 2pm EST, the show discussed concrete blocks-there was a quick segment discussing how to set up a gift wrapping station and how to construct a drop down table. I can't find that information anywhere, can you tell me where to find it? Also are there any other plans to build and extend the length of a table by just sliding it out etc?

Hi Nomidnam,

The program scheduled at that time was DECONSTRUCTION with WINDOWS being the topic - Episode DCON-103. Below are links to the schedule for that day and all info re that episode.

http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/programdaily/0,2019,DIY_1...-23-2008_EST,00.html

http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_dcon/episode/0,3194..._31236_58037,00.html

The bad part is that episode link has very little info about that actual episode. The good part is that the link does show that episode will be available in December and the various times are posted. This should allow you to use a PVR or video tape to record the show so that you have access to the info you desire.

It seems many links to DIY shows do not have the indepth info about the episode with a listing of various materials, resources and suppliers. It may be that certain types of shows are chosen for this style of how to information. Personally I like to be able to view the show and then check out the web link which shows all the steps with the detailed info.

Hope this is of some help.

You know what the real sad part about that little project is...a similar project was previously featured on Tools and Techniques. And IMHO that one would really be a much more usable all around folding workstation/bench, this is a link to that show http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/hi_tools/article/0,2037,D...3936_3927170,00.html.

Before building any workstation consider all the things you think you'll use the workstation for and then add a little more versatility for future projects. The best part for you is the links you've already been given (from abnorm and myself) really are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to workstations. This link http://www.freeww.com/workbenches.html is to a site a lot of us like and features all kinds of FREE workbench plans. Including plans for a drop-down workbench (http://www.buildeazy.com/newplans/wall_bench.html) similar to the drop-down wrapping center. The original drop-down warping station is fine if wrapping gifts is really all you want to do, but if you do any other type of craft or building projects then you may want to make it a little more sturdy and not so dedicated to one job.

But this is just my opinion, I hope it helps.

Good Luck! Work Safe & Have Fun!!
