        I suppose you need the strength of structural drywall if you use a lumber stretcher too much Wink

        true fact, there is a "wire stretcher." old telco trick is to rub a short wire pair with a pencil to stretch it just enough to make connection after accidentally being cut off. this does, of course, weaken the wire to several gauges smaller, and it will eventually break under the plastic jacket and cause all kinds of curious problems.
