convert amp to watts?

convert amp to watts?
i have a little giant pump. its 110 volt and its 1.7 amp....small pump..for a fish pond water fall
sizing of a solar panel
require a watt measurement.. no watts is printed on pump. .can you figure watts from the amp measurement i provided?

Math I can do in my head, left over from a former job where quick multiplication was a must. It was before that when you substituted letters for numbers in equations that life as I know it changed. Never could get my head around that even after learning the basic steps. I'm thinking college types {Dr Sheldon Cooper for instance} have a name for that, I know I do...
