I need help with the following circuit. I need three consecutive receptacles, followed by a light, and then the switch at the end. The key is I want the first two receptacles always on, while the third receptacle, and light would be switched. I thought I had it, but it didn't get past the receptacles.

        Thanks

Pick up a basic wiring book at any home store. For under $10 you will see most basic wiring set-ups with pictures. Well worth it.

There are several ways to do what you want. One basic way: Run power to recpt, #1, then recpt #2, then to switch where the hot goes to switch then continues out top end of switch to the light and switched recpt.
