Hello and Help, I was changing an electrical single switch and blew/sparked the switch. No I did not have the main or any breaker turned off and Yes I really did know better however it is what it is. It appears that at the same time several other switches aren't working now. I did turn the main breaker off and have put marretts on the white and black wires. I live in an older 1979 mobile home and would like some advise on what to do next. Do I have to call a very expensive electrician or I'm hoping for a less expensive DIY alternative. Please tell me I don't have to rip out wall paneling and or replace all my wiring. Thanx Nannyfiveoh

Any number of things may be happening.
Start with the easy ones.
Look for a GFI outlet to see if it tripped.
It could be almost anywhere. Kitchen, bathroom, outside outlet.
If this is a newer home look at the breakers to see if there's not only a lever that flips to reset them but a red buttom in the middle of the breaker. That would be an Arc fault breaker. Just push the red button.
Shut off any of the 15 and 20 amp. breakers and flip them back on.

A good and inexpensive way to troubleshoot your issue is with a continuity tester. This will help you pinpoint where the short occurred so you don't have to replace more wiring then necessary.

Let us know if you cannot locate any GFCI outlet.
Use the power of Google Images to search for a term if you are unfamiliar what it looks like.
Test\Reset button receptacle somewhere on or in the house is probably needing Reset button pushed once your switch is re-wired correctly.
How many wires come into this switch box in question?
Which colors are they per set ?
( look where they come into the box from inside. You should see some outer insulation plastic to determine which set is which and their colors per set.
