every hardware store has lamp sockets and 3/8 inch brass pipe, threaded up, with finials, loops, and stuff for exactly this purpose. use zip cord to wire up the sockets, pull it up through the wire hole in the loops, use chains to link all these things to the top deco piece, and drill that for more finial nuts with holes.

wire all the zip cords together where this will connect to the electrical box in the ceiling, test with a ohmmeter to make sure there are no shorts and the rib and smooth sides of the zip cord go to the sockets, and connect to power. it is highly recommended the button on the bottom of the socket to to black wire, and the screw-thread of the socket go to white.

if you're going to do this right, the hardware should go through the bottom of the Mason jar. to do that, you will need glass drill bits... they are called tulip bits.

all this stuff can be found in a big box store, also in a decent hardware store. I saw it all the last weekend in a Do It Best chain store, for instance.

HINT: if this is new to you, make a "proof of concept" piece first, aka use creepy cheap junk stuff and make a small one. that way, while you're teaching yourself what you're trying to do, you break and mess up cheaper parts. takes the pressure off.

sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?
