I live in a cold weather area and I'm trying to put a switch for the garage door inside the house so I don't have to go in the cold to do it. The door isn't visible from inside, so I'd also like some kind of indicator near or on the switch to tell me if the garage door is open. I've been looking for a low voltage momentary wall-mount switch for the first part, but I'm not entirely sure that's what I need. I do realize that it would be simplest to keep an extra garage door opener in the house, but where's the fun in that? Smile

I'm a little lost on this one.?
If you don't have an interior door linking together the house and garage, you will still have to go outside.?

It's been a few years, but I have seen where you can install a detector to tell you from inside the house if your garage door is open. Contact or google some of the popular door openers and see what they offer. What you want is out there, but I've never installed one, but can definitely see the good in having one.

One night I looked into my garage to verify the door was down, and said yes, and went to bed. The next morning, I opened the small garage door and there was the big garage door open all night. Where I live it is so dark I couldn't tell the difference, and maybe I had a brain fart. All my tools were still there, but I sure chewed me out

As they say, "There's an app for that"

Slave your garage door through your I-phone.
