I replaced 2 switches both are single pole/3way switches, they both control a separate light and share a light in common. After the install the single pole lights work just fine, but the 3 way switches do nothing and the light is always on, the only way to shut off the light is with the breaker. Any suggestions?
Your easiest way will be to get a basic electrical book with pictures and figure out what youcurrently have.
The short story is that you are obviously wired up wrong, giving you an continuous hot to the light or jumper. With three wires, you have 6 possible wiring combinations - only one will work correctly.
