I pulled off an old brass ceiling light with 2 bulbs. There were a total of 8 wires going into this light (4 white and 4 black) it was running off a single hallway light switch.
The new LED light uses only one white and one black, and the ground. I'm not sure where to start with this wiring. I think it's also tied in somehow to the bedroom light switch, which now also doesn't work.
I'm thinking 2 sets of wires are for the hallway switch and bedroom switch, and the other 2 sets of wires are both power?
Ay... mama mia.
Sadly a photo taken before you had taken apart the connections would have been a lifesaver. Trial & error is lying ahead of you. Present is a possible combination of hot feeds, switch feeds and switch legs that you have to work through. But next to impossible to tell you what wire does what by your photo.
