light bulb adapter
Can anyone give me a link (preferably, lowes or h.depot , for an adapter that changes a standard light bulb socket to a candlebra bulb socket? Or, at least, tell me what it actually is called so I can ask at the store for it.

Never seen one - and I practically live at Lowe's.

Why not just change out the fixture with a new one?

the fixture is an expensive table lamp that takes a standard base bulb. With the phasing out of the incandescent bulbs, and me having a lot of candlebra bulbs that was given to me by my now deceased father in law, I would like to use them up A long time ago , I bought a reducer adapter at lowes, but now don't remember what it was called so I can look up the number and get them again
Here's a link for something that I want http://www.bulbs.com/espec.asp...0&CA_6C15C=665886793
I could use the CFL bulbs, but my wife and I hate the light they emit (even the soft light ones ) and want to delay as long as possible

Nona have you looked at lowes at the end of the electric isle ? here in cincinnati they have a display with a lot of small drawers and all kind of odd electric dohikis , even the new help most of the time don't know about this display..I am almost 98% sure I spotted once what you are looking for.

Don't know what they are called but I bought a bunch of them at HD. Come in pack of 2, maybe by Angelo a manufacturer that makes lamp parts. Try socket reducer.

I got one with a candelabra based LED bulb I bought several years ago. It was included in the blister pack. I probably got it at Lowe's maybe Sam's Club.

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

I found some links last night when I was just experimentally searching Lowes sites in Florida. If you plug in your zip code or city, you might be able to find a Lowes or HD that specifically has the adapter you want.

http://www.lowes.com/Search=mo...ium+socket+adapter#!

There are some adapters but they appear to be for much higher wattage than I think a lamp would require. Still, it's a starting point if you narrow it down to your area.

Good luck.

I went to lowes a while ago, and though they knew what I wanted, they don't carry them. H. Depot next time I pass the store

Around here, if you stand in any Lowe's parking lot and spit in the right direction, you'll hit Home Depot.

yeah, I know what you mean. h.depot and lowes was about 10 miles from my house, and across the street from each other. But a couple of years ago lowes built another store about 7 miles closer, I'm waiting for h.d. to join them, but there doesn't seem to be any indication that they will

We have that situation at a nearby location as well. Sadly the area was once a prime rabbit hunting valley with great access, which lead to its becoming a megamall setting. Meaning in the middle of nowhere but great interstate access.
