New corner shower - tile under or up to shower base. Confused. Sign In/Join

I am shopping for a corner shower kit and will also remove the tile in a small condo bathroom - concrete floor underneath. I don't understand in order to get that seamless look from the floor to the shower base how the flooring is supposed to be done.

Do you tile fist up to the drain before you put the shower base in or do you put the base in and tile up to the edge of the base. The latter must be horrible to do if you buy a rounded corner shower (trying to cut several pieces of tile to match that curvature perfectly) instead of the the corner shower bases that have three angles.

Can someone make sense of the way this is supposed to be done? Thanks.

generally the shower base is installed first, then the tile is installed
be sure...that when the base is installed..all plumbing conections are tested for leaks...BEFORE you tile the floor..if not......$$$$$$$$$ is wasted
