        Hello there,

I have an '84 ranch style home with a sunken living room 20' x 20' with a cathedral ceiling. The fireplace is just a hole in the wall surrounded by brick. I have tried a couple of provisional ideas but none are really working and I don't really want to paint the brick. Any suggestions?

You never told us that it is your looking for ideas on and there's no picture posted so no one knows what the room looks like.
If it was up to me I'd just hang my painting of 4 dogs playing poker over it and call it a day.
But I'd bet your looking for a better idea then that.
