I totally agree. Bring our shows back!!!! They repeat all of the "reno" "old house" too many times a day you think they would schedule a few crafting shows instead.
After subscribing to many more channels than I actually wanted, just to be able to watch DIY's craft shows, I now find they've been discontinued! It was bad enough that they were shown at such an inconvenient hour that I had to record them. I am more than unhappy!
I totally agree. They have robbed us of all our shows even scrapbooking. All I have seen now is how to's for remodeling your home or selling your home, etc. I don't watch either station anymore. There's nothing interesting on them.

I am a beginning quilter. Simply Quilts helped me so much with ideas, shortcuts, etc. I taped Simply Quilts and Scrapbooking everyday and would watch it when I got home. These were the shows that made DIY and HGTV my favorite stations, not shows like how to bill a house. PLEASE tell me how we can get these shows back.
Now it's time for the DIY NETWORK people to respond!!!!!
We would like to have our craft shows back during NORMAL HOURS and we would like some NEW craft shows as well.
If we do not get a response, we should organize a letter writing campaign to the companies that advertise on HGTV & THE DIY NETWORK and we will have to start a BOYCOTT of their products!!!!

If you go to the ABOUT US link, you can write to the networks with a comment. I sent them the following letter:
Hi. I am just one of many who loved HGTV and DIY NETWORK because of your craft shows.
First you put them on during the middle of the night and now you have removed them altogether.
THE REASON WE ALL WATCHED HGTV & THE DIY NETWORK WAS FOR THE CRAFT SHOWS.
We now have nothing. There are petitions on the bulletin board and we are all signing them.
We not only want our craft shows back, we would like to get some NEW craft shows so we aren't watching the same shows 20 times each.
YOU HAVE DESTROYED THE NETWORKS!
If we can't get our shows back, we are prepared to begin a letter writing campaign to your advertisers to let them know that we are going to BOYCOTT their products. We DO NOT watch either network any longer because, quite frankly, it is BORING!!!!!

I received this response to my very emotional letter:
Hello and thank you for your email.
First, please accept our sincerest apology for the lengthy delay in getting back to you with a response. We've been experiencing intermittent mail server issues of late which have caused a significant delay in getting back to our customers.
All of our programming is dedicated to providing ideas, inspiration and information to our viewers. Though it is our hope that every viewer enjoys the great variety of programs offered on our network, we also realize that not every program is suited for every taste. The comments and suggestions offered in your e-mail will be kept in mind as we plan future programming.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to write to DIY - Do It Yourself Network. Your views on our programs provide the most direct and accurate information upon which we make our programming decisions.
Best regards,
Scripps Networks Customer Service
Did anyone else get the same "form letter"?

Please let me know how to sign the petition. I have got hook on kniity gritty , I even tape it ever night at 5:30 in the morning but it get old because they keep the same show over and over every month.
The reason your thread was locked was because it had over 1000 views. They do with all threads when they reach that amount, both here and on HGTV.
Also a petition is no good on these boards, most of the time no one from the networks pays any attention to anything here. Only if there is a problem and someone complains, then they come in and zap them.
You need to FLOOD the network with e-mails AND phone calls. But in reality, they don't care, didn't do a bit of good on HGTV when they ripped all those craft shows off.
Now they are busy redoing houses by the masses for quick sale. What a joke, houses in our area have been sitting for sale for two years now, people don't even look at them. Every day more seem to go into foreclosure.
What a shame to have artistic and creative abilities shoved to the side. I haven't checked in here in ages as I don't even get DIY and now don't even watch HGTV any more. I will say I'm getting lots more sewing and crafting done by not frequenting boards and watching TV

I agree: we need more craft shows, and less home improvement stuff. I also agree that it's not likely to come from HGTV or DIY/Scripps. You would think with scrapbooking, cardmaking and quilting having such a large audience here (and all around the world) they would capitalize on it .. who knows what drives the industry? But if you need another name on the petition - you can count me in. Vianna

I have been an avid watcher of crafts shows, First it was Aleens Craft Show, and of course Carol Duvall, then came Sandi Genovese with the new and ever going scrapbooking show. I was addicted to all the craft shows. Now I ask you who in the world would watch any craft shows in the middle of the night. Was that a joke???? Well you can put my name on the list of people that want craft shows back on DIY and HGTV. I have paid extra Cable service in order to get these channels, and now all I get to see if new buyers for houses, and how to redo a kitchen, or decorate it. You ought to take a poll to see who views these shows. You can't beat THIS OLD HOUSE FOR information on building. I need input from sewing, crafting, and scrapbooking bring them back.
