I need to make a crib skirt with pleats, not a box skirt. I have the patern for a box skirt, so my problem is how much more fabric do I need to have enough pleating? Can you please help? Thanks for reading, Clar
It depends on the size of the pleats. This is just a math question. Measure the length and width of the bed and add these together and multiply by 2. This is the finished length.
Now, if you do 2" pleats you need 4 extra inches for each pleat. You will also need to figure out how many pleats you will have based on how far apart you want them. Take a scrap or an old sheet and see what looks good to you.
After you figure out the length, determine how long you want it. Add top and bottom hems. You may be able to use 54" or 60" fabric and get two lengths out of it. Just do the math. Monica
